Local historian Marcie Miller, as Save Marins History (SMH), leads engaging walking tours monthly throughout Marin County towns and neighborhoods, highlighting significant historical sites and sharing remarkable stories—famous, infamous, and delightfully scandalous—about the people who shaped the region.

Every September, Marcie honors local Arctic explorer Louise Arner Boyd’s birthday with a guided tour of her former family estate, Maple Lawn (now the San Rafael Elks Lodge), complete with birthday cake served on the terrace.

In October, the Mt Olivet Cemetery tour explores the burial sites of Marin County's founding families.

Additionally, Marcie Miller provides monthly history talks and slide-show presentations featuring Marin County history. Guest speakers are regularly included to provide additional insight and depth.
